The NORAD Santa Tracker is a fun and interactive way for people around the world to track Santa Claus’s journey on Christmas Eve. The tradition started in 1955 when a misprinted phone number in a Sears Roebuck & Co. ad directed children to call NORAD’s predecessor, the Continental Air Defense Command (CONAD), instead of “Santa”. The director at the time, Colonel Harry Shoup, decided to play along and had his staff check the radar for indications of Santa making his way south from the North Pole.
As of today, December 24, 2023, the NORAD Santa Tracker should be live and updating with Santa’s current location. You can access it here to follow Santa as he makes his deliveries around the world. Enjoy tracking Santa and have a wonderful festive season!
